  I ordered a system from MBA in Dec 2009. It was expensive but I felt it would be worth it to not be bound to a monitoring company. I was told that my system would be covered by a one-year warranty and to just call and they would come over if I had any questions or problems. The installation was also very expensive. During the installation, they were afraid they wouldn't be able to finish that same day so they decided to hire extra workers at an additional cost to me without making this cost known upfront. MBA called us in May or June to let us know they weren't receiving a signal from our system. They sent a tech out who corrected the issue by covering the unit with a plastic bag (it worked), but he told us that we needed to have our phone line fixed and then to call them back. I had new phone service installed and called them back... they said they still weren't getting a signal and would send someone to my house in a few days. The guy arrived over an hour late and plugged our system back in. He gave me something to sign that said there would be an $86 charge for the visit... I asked him about it and he said he didn't think it would apply. When I went to pay my monthly bill, they told me there would be a charge for the visit. I told them that wasn't fair, there had never been a service charge in the past, and the receptionist got a huge attitude with me. She said I should have asked her when we talked on the phone last week. I told her I wanted to cancel my service and she got an even bigger attitude and started arguing with me, saying "do you think we should just do service calls for free?!" I decided I wanted to speak to her manager before I signed anything and she said she'd have him call me in a week. I regret ever doing business with these people... they're rude, perpetually late, and don't honor their service agreements.
